Canon Pixma Pro-10

As you know, my art is for sale on Fine Art America. Using an on-demand printer means my customers can easily order a quality print or other item from the comfort of their own homes. However, if you visit my shop or my Etsy store, you will find that I only sell prints that I printed in my studio on my Canon PIXMA PRO-10 Color Professional Inkjet Photo Printer. Why would I choose to print my artwork myself instead of leaving it up to a photo lab? There are three reasons I like to print my work myself:

  1. The printing is part of the artistic process. I can control the paper, the color, the size, and the finish of the print. It allows me to experiment and test different versions of the art piece.
  2. I can mat and sign a piece of art I have created, indicating that it is an original work by me. This adds value for the customer.
  3. Finally, printing allows me to test the final image before uploading for printing on-demand. Sometimes the printed image looks vastly different than it looked on the screen. I want to make any necessary adjustments before making it available to the public.

And a bonus reason is that printing the art myself is just fun. Moving the image from the screen to paper brings me great joy.
